Let's make the world a better place through code!
Fostering a comfy place for students to learn to code.
Dedicated to helping you learn
We are life-long learners of coding, having began our studies in the disciplines of Biology and Economics, we recognize the barriers of entry in learning programming.
We have observed several barriers to entry in coding, such as students developing an interest in coding during the late stages of high school or university, attempting it but perceiving it as too difficult, a subject that requries too much math, or attempting to learn independently without knowing where to begin, any of these situations leading to not starting or exiting early.
Here at Digi Cafe we strive to lower the barriers to entry along all of these dimensions and provide the best possible experience so that you can learn in a comfortable environment.
Incorporation
Why was Digi Cafe created? We saw a gap in online education that focused on the basics. Additionally some sites focus purely on material, and others purely on coding. We wanted to combine the two as in school, one learns best by applying what they learned by working on projects and taking tests.
Powered by multiple tools
In case you are interested what our tech stack is: we use Netlify for hosting this web site, which is written in SvelteKit; the back-end is hosted on Digital Ocean, which is written in C++ and makes extensive use of the Poco library; a PostgreSQL database to store information; and Stripe for handling payments.
The Team
Digi Cafe was incorporated in October 2022. We started as a small team of two. The site would not be where it is without the development put in by the following amazing people.
